Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Village of L’Anse is getting federal support to develop a new industrial park.

A federal grant of $1-point-28 million from the Economic Development Administration will help development of the new US-41 L’Anse Industrial Park.

Baraga County has three publicly owned industrial parks, but two of them are full and the third does not have a lease-to-own option.

The new park addresses demand for industrial space and allows for expansion and job creation.

The grant will go to the construction of roads and utility infrastructure.

The industrial park is anticipated to create 84 jobs and $4 million in private investment.

The total cost of the project is $1-point-8 million.
