Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Northern Michigan University’s maintenance, dining services and police employees in AFSCME Local 1094 have ratified a new contract.
Employees will receive a 1.75 percent increase in base salary and a one-time $90 payment in the first year of the agreement.
Salaries will increase by 2 percent in the second and third years.
As of January 1st, AFSCME will move to the same health care plan approved earlier this week by the university’s technical and office professionals, UAW Local 1050.
Some of the plan changes will include increases to health care deductibles, co-insurance and out-of-pocket maximum amounts.
The contract is subject to approval by the NMU Board of Trustees.
