Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Several thousand residents were without power in the Houghton area yesterday afternoon.

The Upper Peninsula Power Company is reporting a power outage that affected about 4,000 customers that started around 1 o’clock.

The company says the outage lasted about and hour and crews were able to determine that it was caused when feeder circuits at the Henry Street Substation in south Houghton tripped and failed.

UPPCO says the system was reset and power was fully restored to the affected customers without incident.
