Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette County Veterans Alliance will be holding an informational meeting on Monday, October 6th, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss a millage ballot proposal for funding to hire a County Veterans Counselor.
Jim Provost, Chair of the Alliance George LaBlonde III, Coordinator, joined The SUNNY Morning Show today to talk about the Alliance and the millage proposal.
They explained that Marquette County has never had this position and it is long overdue
Provost said the proposal has strong support throughout the Marquette County community.
LaBlonde said the proposal is seeking one tenth of a mill for a period of ten years to fund the position and will be spent solely for the support of this local veterans support program.
