    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette City Fire Department is slated to receive a federal grant to improve operations and safety.

    The $50,624 grant comes through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

    The grant program is part of FEMA.

    These competitive grants will help fund professional training programs, update equipment and facilities, and provide new supplies to help first-responders handle hazards efficiently and effectively.
