    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette City Commission has approved offer from Duke LifePoint to build the new Marquette General Hospital in the city.

    Under the plan, which was approved by the Commission at a special session yesterday afternoon, the new facility will be constructed on the area of vacant land between Washington Street and Baraga Avenue known as the Roundhouse Property.

    Duke LifePoint is looking to purchase the property for $4 million for the $170 million hospital construction.

    The planned project would be built on approximately 37 acres of land.
