Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) –  State Police at the Negaunee Post are continuing their investigation into a weekend traffic accident in Alger County that injured two men.

Troopers say the accident happened around noon Saturday on US-41 near M-67 in Mathias Township when a southbound vehicle, driven by 68-year-old Gary Lacombe of Zionsville, IN, slowed down and stopped on the highway to make a left into a driveway.

He was then struck from behind by another southbound vehicle driven by 86-year-old Eugene Holmquist of Rapid River.

Both men were taken to Marquette General Hospital for treatment.

Troopers say both men were wearing seat belts and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
