Assailant Arraigned In Escanaba Murder Case

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Escanaba Public Safety have updated their investigation into the death of a woman who was killed early yesterday morning in Escanaba.

    Officers were called out to 206 Stephenson Avenue around 4:20 a.m. on a report of an assault.

    Officers say the victim, 32-year-old Heather Batchelor, died from injuries sustained from being stabbed in the throat with a kitchen knife.

    Her husband, 36-year-old Kallay Batchelor, was arrested and is being held on a charge of Open Murder/Homicide.

    He was formally arraigned in 94th District Court today.

    He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.

    He is being held at the Delta County Jail without bond.
