Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The driver of a Ryder Truck that was involved in a fatal accident in June in Ishpeming has been charged in connection with the crash.
19-year-old Raymond Anderson of Ishpeming has been charged with two counts of Moving Violation Causing Death in the accident on June 5th at the intersection of US-41 and Lakeshore Drive that claimed the lives of 64-year-old Gary Kappler of Ahmeek and 52-year-old Diane Palosaari of Mohawk.
The pair were riding a motorcycle on US-41 when the truck turned into their path at the intersection.
Anderson has been arrested and arraigned on the charges and faces a pre-trial conference at a later date.
Moving Violation Causing Death is a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and/or a $2000 fine.
