Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A Schoolcraft County man is expected to be arraigned later this morning after being arrested early yesterday for attempted murder.
Manistique Public Safety says an ambulance was called to 631 Michigan Avenue around 11:50 p.m. on Monday for a report of a severe knife wound to the throat.
The victim, a 31-year-old Manistique woman, was taken to Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital.
Authorities say the incident had occurred next door at 637 Michigan Avenue, and the victim had gone to the other home for help.
The suspect,a 58-year-old Manistique man, was located and arrested around 2:00 a.m. yesterday.
He was charged with attempted murder and is being held without bond.
The victim was treated and released from the hospital. The names of the victim and the suspect are not being released at this time, pending formal arraignment.
