Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Senator Tom Casperson called in this morning to The SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike to update listeners on a pair of items.

The Delta County Republican talked about the latest efforts in Lansing to free up funding to assist state residents who have been hit hard by the price of propane this winter due to supply shortages.

He also discussed legislation he authored to assist those who rebuild structures lost to natural disasters.

The bill clarifies state law to ensure that those who lose homes or buildings to natural disasters such as wildfires, tornadoes, or floods, would not be subject to higher property taxes when they rebuild a substantially similar structure within three years of the incident.

Casperson’s bill is now headed to the governor’s desk for his signature.
