Traverse City Republican Howard Walker cited family reasons in his choice not to seek another term in office. In a statement released yesterday Walker said he had done much “soul-searching” and that family had always been his first priority.
Walker served three terms in the Michigan House between 2003 and 2008, and won his current Senate seat in 2010. He currently chairs the Senate Appropriations K-12, School Aid and Education Subcommittee.
