Lake Superior Youth Theater Brings “HONK! Jr.” To Marquette, MI

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A fun adaptation of the classic story, “The Ugly Duckling” is being performed at the Lake Superior Theater in Marquette.

    The Lake Superior Youth Theater is presenting “Honk! Jr.” is the story of Ugly, whose odd, gawky looks  instantly incite prejudice from his family and neighbors.

    Show Director Moire Embley and cast members David Bashaw and Sophie Shahbazi joined The SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike today to preview the show.

    According to Embley, this contemporary re-telling of “The Ugly Duckling” carries the classic message for all ages of true beauty and love and acceptance in all its forms.

    Cast members Bashaw and Shabazi are veterans of the show, having performed it eight years ago as different characters and they say it has been a great time doing the show again.

    The show runs at the Lake Superior Boathouse Theater in Marquette from Thursday, August 1st to Sunday, August 4th, and Wednesday August 7th through Saturday, August 10th with showtimes at 7:30 p.m.
