MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Hancock City Police say an autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death of a Hancock man who’s body was found in the Portage Canal yesterday.
Police say the body of Jason Mikkola, 33, was discovered just after 6:30 p.m. in the canal near a family owned boat house. He was last seen around 1 a.m. on Monday.
Police say they believe that Mikkola may have fallen off the boat as he was moorning it to the boat house.
