U.P._News_UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)A special musical event is being held today in Marquette to benefit an area farm that lost a major portion of their operations in a recent fire.

The Seeds and Spores “Barn Raiser Benefit” will help The Seeds and Spores Family Farm which lost their central hub for operations when their barn burned. The barn housed everything from their pack shed, inventory, and tools, to feed for their animals.

The farm has the largest Community Supported Agriculture program in the area and is a popular vendor at the Downtown Marquette Farmers Market.

Today’s event at the Ore Dock Brewing Company will help raise money for a new barn and equipment, as insurance will not cover all of the farm’s losses.

From 5:30pm-8:30pm today, there will be a benefit concert and silent auction, and monetary donations for entrance will be accepted at the door. All proceeds will go to the farm.
