MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Senator Tom Casperson is responding to Governor Rick Snyder’s comments made today in Marquette calling on the senate to pass the Medicaid expansion proposal.

The Delta County Republican says that the feels the Governor is moving in the right direction with health care access for low-income residents, but this particular expansion, as approved in the state House, needs more scrutiny.

Casperson says he is hoping to put a stay on the vote on the measure until the fall when the state legislature re-convenes and a vote can be taken after more research and input is gathered.

In an exclusive interview with GLR News Director Walt Lindala, Senator Casperson explained his sentiments on the Governor’s message.
