Munising, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Alger County Sheriff’s Office says one person was killed in a snowmobile accident yesterday.
It happened on Trail #8 near Airport Road in Grand Marais just before noon.
49-year-old Scott Edward Reimer of downstate Bay City was pronounced dead at the scene.
Reports say he was westbound on the trail when he lost control of the snowmobile and was thrown from the machine, causing extensive injuries.
Excessive speed is believed to have been a factor and the accident remains under investigation.
