MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Ishpeming Firefighters responded to an out building fire at 257 Hill Street in the City of Ishpeming around 5:45 p.m. yesterday.
Upon arrival, Firefighters found the out building behind the four-apartment building fully engulfed in flames.
Neighbors reported seeing lightning strike a tree next to the out building, a short time later they saw the out building on fire and called 911.
The neighbors alerted the one family that was home at the time of the fire. The fire was brought under control within 5 minutes of the fire departments arrival. The out building was a total loss, but no injuries were reported.
Firefighters remained on scene for about one hour putting out hot spots.
