MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Local organizations across Michigan are being encouraged to apply for federal grants to sponsor programs geared toward senior volunteers.
The Corporation for National and Community Service will award $14 million in grants nationwide to city and county governments, organizations, nonprofits and other groups that sponsor Retired and Senior Volunteer Programs in 2014.
The grants are for RSVP programs in six focus areas including economic opportunity, education and Veterans and Military Families.
