Health Tip – June 26 – Summer Grocery Shopping Tips

The summer heat can pose potential problems for food safety. Bacteria can begin to grow even before you get your food home. A few simple steps can help keep your food safe.

When shopping, avoid bacteria by buying foods that need to be refrigerated last. Use an insulated soft-sided bag to transport your food home. Or, put a cooler in your car with ice packs to keep food safe until you get home. Make the grocery store your last stop before going home.
