MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Senator Tom Casperson recently held a meeting in Munising with staff members from Alger Max prison to take comments on a proposed plan to privatize food services in Michigan prisons.

Senator Casperson called in to The SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike to discuss some of the outcomes of that meeting and what he learned from the concerns of the prison staff.

Casperson said while most of those in attendance understood the need of possible privatizing of certain services to save money, they brought several discrepancies in this particular proposal to light that were a surprise to him.

The Senator described the meeting as a positive one that gave him plenty to consider about the proposal for food service privatization as it was presented to him.
