MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Mini Cooper automobile owners from all over the country will converge on Mackinaw City in northern Michigan later this summer in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest parade of MINIs at MINIs on the Mack.

The MINI rally will take place on Saturday, August 3, and will culminate with a mass crossing of the Mackinac Bridge, the world’s third-longest suspension bridge, to Little Bear East Arena in St. Ignace.

The event is being organized by West Michigan auto dealer MINI of Grand Rapids with help from the Mackinac Bridge Authority.

The current world record for the most Mini Coopers in a parade is 1,450.  Event planners are encouraging MINI owners to use social media and other methods to spread the word.
