“The Way North”, A New Compilation Of U.P. Related Writings Being Featured Monday.

    MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A public reading and official release of  “The Way North: Collected Upper Peninsula New Works” is being held next week in Marquette.

    The book is a compilation of writings by people with some connection to the Upper Peninsula.

    John Smolens, Professor of English at NMU, and one of the writers featured in the book joined The SUNNY Morning Show today to preview the public event.

    Smolens says the reading will feature several of the authors from the book, including April Lindala, Ron Riekki, Marty Achatz, Janeen Rastall, L.E. Kimball, and Cameron Witbeck.  Smolens will also read one of his pieces included in the compilation.

    The event is being held at 7:00 PM in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library on Monday and a book sale and signings will follow the readings.
