MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) –Michigan U.S. Congressman Mike Rogers says he hasn’t made a decision whether he will run for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by long-time U.S. Senator Carl Levin.
Rogers says it would be hard to campaign for statewide office and maintain his chairmanship of the House Intelligence Committee. The Howell Republican says, “We’re having significant impact there so we have to decide if it makes sense to pull out of that for 18 months or so to run for office.”
Senator Levin announced earlier this year he would not seek a 7th term in office, which opens a U.S. Senate seat in Michigan for the first time since 1994.
