Two Teenage Girls Arrested for OWI, Stolen Vehicle

    Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)Marquette City Police report the arrest of two juvenile females after a single-vehicle accident on a dead-end street in Marquette.
    City Police say a patrolman saw a car run a red light at the intersection of McClellan and Washington just after 12 a.m. today. The vehicle then turned onto Mildred Street and stopped after it hit a tree.
    The 16-year-old driver and her 17-year-old female passenger were arrested after they were found to be consuming alcohol and the car they were in was reported as stolen. Both girls were also reported as runaways. No injuries were reported in the crash.
    The 16-year-old driver was lodged in the Marquette County Youth Home for Operating While Impaired, Unlawfully Driving Away of an Automobile and Having No Driver’s License. The 17-year-old passenger was lodged in the County Jail on charges of Unlawfully Driving Away and Automobile, Minor in Possession of Alcohol and Resisting Arrest.
