Iron County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident yesterday morning that injured one person.
The accident was reported just before 7 a.m. Central time near Sunset Shores in Iron County’s Bates Township. Residents called authorities after they heard a loud crash in the area. Deputies found the vehicle crashed into a tree and the driver, an unidentified 19-year-old Iron River man was hospitalized with injuries.
Deputies say intoxication and excessive speed were factors in the crash. The driver was the lone occupant in the vehicle and his name is being withheld pending further investigation and review by Iron County Prosecuting Attorney.
