MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police are continuing the investigation today into a fatal police-involved shooting yesterday evening in Marquette County.
The incident occurred just after 6 p.m. when a State Trooper and a Marquette County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a 911 call concerning a residence in Humboldt Township.
The 911 call came in to Central Dispatch and reported a domestic disturbance involving a firearm in progress. The officers arriving on the scene were confronted by an armed woman at the scene.
According to a statement from the State Police, the Trooper fatally shot the female, a 50-year-old woman from Champion. No names have been released at this time and further information is expected later today.
