MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Officials with Marquette General Hospital have released an update on the progress made at the regional medical center since its September acquisition by Duke LifePoint.
CEO Gary Muller says expectations have been greatly exceeded and a strategic plan for MGH includes a multi-category approach to measuring continued progress. The categories are: quality standards, physicians, financial status and facility conditions.
Priorities for MGH include broadening the base of Superior Health Partners, physician recruitment and additional capital expenditure by Duke LifePoint of $300 million dollars over the next 10 years.
Muller says MGH will also be updating its facility, with cosmetic facelifts and major brick and mortar construction projects totaling almost $20 million dollars.
