Three Arrested on Drug Charges in Ironwood


    Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)Authorities in the western U.P. are reporting the arrest of three Ironwood residents on drug charges.

    Officers with the Gogebic-Iron Area Narcotics Team, or “GIANT” along with Ironwood Public Safety executed a search warrant around 1:30 a.m. central time today at a residence on Florence Street in Ironwood.

    Officers on the scene discovered an active meth lab in the residence and arrested the three people without incident. Surrounding homes were evacuated and residents were transported to safe locations.

    The three suspects have been lodged at the Gogebic County jail pending arraignment. They face charges including manufacture of meth and maintaining a drug house, and additional charges are pending.

    All names are being withheld at this time pending arraignment.
