Two Injured In Car-Pedestrian Accident In Harvey

    Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Two people were injured last night when they were struck by a car as they crossed a highway in Marquette County.

    The accident happened around 7:00 p.m. in Chocolay Township when 28-year-old Louis Kowalski and 25-year-old Jaimie Skytta, both from Marquette, got off of a Marq-Tran bus that had pulled over onto the side of US-41 just south of the M-28 intersection in Harvey.

    Authorities say the people tried to cross the highway in a poorly lit area and were hit by a northbound vehicle driven by 57-year-old William Belanger of Marquette.

    They were taken to UP Health System-Marquette for treatment and the accident remains under investigation.
