MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office investigated a weekend pickup truck-pedestrian accident in Chocolay Township.
The accident happened around 9 a.m. Saturday when an eastbound pickup, driven by a 25-year-old Harvey man, struck a female pedestrian on Lakewood Lane as she walked out onto the roadway in front of the pickup.
The pedestrian was a minor and sustained minor injuries to one leg. Authorities say she was crossing the roadway to retrieve a newspaper and the driver of the pickup was not able to avoid the collision.
No names were released and no tickets were issued.
