Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Northern Michigan University’s Forest Roberts Theatre is presenting The Santaland Diaries by David Sedaris this Saturday at Coco’s Restaurant in Marquette.

Two performances are scheduled: a 7:30 p.m. show with a full-course dinner (vegetarian option available); and a midnight show with appetizers. The production is a fundraiser for the NMU First Nighters Club.

Sedaris’ one-man show is a send up of his brief, misguided career as Crumpet, a Macy’s elf that skewers the sentimental aspects of Christmas, such as happy children, spritely elves, gifts and good cheer.

Ansley Valentine directs the production and NMU student Shane O’Connor stars and they joined the SUNNY Morning Show with Walt & Mike this morning to talk about the show.

Tickets must be purchased in advance at the NMU Superior Dome or Forest Roberts Theatre box office and are $35 for the dinner show and $25 for the midnight show with appetizers.
