Great Lakes Radio News UpdateMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)Progress is being reported in the investigation into the hacking of the Emergency Activation System on TV stations in Upper Michigan and other parts of the country yesterday.

Local viewers watching Public TV 13 yesterday afternoon or ABC 10 last night, heard an audio message combined with a video crawl announcing that dead bodies were rising from their graves and were attacking the living.

Reports say the hack has been tracked by investigators to an overseas location. The hack was a ‘back door’ attack that allowed the hacker to access the security of the EAS equipment. ABC 10 officials say they are working to close any gaps in their security systems that could allow this to reoccur and to lock out any further intrusions.

Hackers also broke into the emergency alert system of a television station in Great Falls, Montana yesterday posting a similar message.
