MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police at the Wakefield Post responded to a snowmobile-logging truck accident yesterday afternoon in Gogebic County.
The accident happened just before 2 o’clock central time on M-28 near Hopkins Road just east of Wakefield in Wakefield Township.
Troopers say 57-year-old Jeff Shuelke of Leganon, Wisconsin was crossing M-28 and failed to yield for a fully loaded logging truck driven by 41-year-old Chad Miskovich of Wakefield.
The snowmobile ran into the drive wheels of the truck and then spun away from the truck, ejecting Shuelke. He was taken to Aspirus Grandview Hospital with unknown injuries.
Shuelke was ticketed for failure to yield causing an accident.
