MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A man involved in a Munising Township armed robbery was sentenced yesterday in Alger County District Court.
30-year-old Israel Velez of Chicago, Illinois was sentenced to 25 to 60 years in prison for his part in the home invasion and armed robbery of a man at his home on East Powell Lake Road in Munising Township last year.
37-year-old Ruben Rodriguez of Elmwood Park, Illinois was found guilty by a jury late last week for his role in the incident. He will be sentenced next month.
33-year-old Isaac Cotto of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, a third suspect in the case, plead no contest to all charges in the case and will be sentenced at a future date.
A fourth suspect in the case, 26-year-old George Carmona of Chicago, Illinois also plead guilty to the charges in the case.
