Alger County, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police at the Negaunee Post have positively identified human remains found this fall in Alger County.

The remains were located by hunters on October 30th in Munising Township.

The remains were identified though dental records as those of 40-year-old Victor Salo.

His family says he lived a transient lifestyle and they had not seen him for two years.

Salo had not been reported as missing and was believed to have been camping in the area where his remains were located.

State Police say due to advanced decomposition, Salo’s cause of death is unknown, but no foul play is suspected.
