MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Closing arguments are expected today in the trial of a man charged in connection with an armed robbery and home invasion in Alger County.
The trial of 35-year-old Ruben Joseph Rodriguez of Elmwood Park, Illinois is continuing in Alger County Circuit Court. He is one of four men charged with breaking into a home in Munising Township last February and robbing the homeowner at gunpoint.
Another suspect in the case, 30-year-old Isaac Cotto of Milwaukee is expected to go to trial in two weeks. The two other suspects in the case have plead guilty. One of them, George Carmona of Chicago, has been sentenced to 135 months to 225 months in prison for armed robbery, with credit for time served in the Alger County Jail.
