    Snyder's State of the State Address tonightMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)Governor Rick Snyder delivers his third “State of the State” address tonight in Lansing.

    Tonight the Governor will propose a new state department, to be called “The Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions.”  The Governor will also propose a fee increase to raise more money for roads in Michigan, as well as propose a local fee option for local governments to raise money for local roadways.

    The Governor will also focus on employing veterans, and he’ll push to approve a plan to make Blue Cross/Blue Shield a mutual insurance company.

    The Governor says another theme will be an effort to match job vacancies in Michigan with those who have the skills for those jobs.  He also may talk about his plans for at least two summits in the near future.  One will be an economic development summit in March on the jobs issue. The other will be an education summit in April.
