Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Marquette Area Public School District is moving ahead with a computer initiative to give all students full access to new technology.

The MAPS Board of Education approved approximately $650,000 last night to complete its 1 to 1 computer initiative.

According to District Superintendent Bill Saunders, the money will be used this spring to purchase 2500 Chromebooks for students.

Saunders says this will cover all remaining students not already under the plan and gives students a modern learning tool to enhance their education.
