MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A man wanted by police in the Upper Peninsula is behind bars after several months on the run.
State Police say 40-year-old Raymond Ojala, Junior of Hubbell turned himself in on Saturday at the Houghton County Jail. He was wanted on a charge of kidnapping-custodial interference.
Ojala and 32-year-old Christina Gagnon of Calumet were wanted for questioning about passing bad checks in the Houghton County area. They fled the area on Thanksgiving night with her 11-year old son.
Gagnon is still on the loose and the boy has been listed as a missing endangered child. Police believe she is in the Green Bay, Wisconsin area.
