Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – State Police say a fatal traffic accident on Friday in Alger County remains under investigation today.
Troopers responded to a one vehicle accident just before 9:30 Friday morning in Limestone Township.
53-year-old Robin McClellan of Rapid River was northbound on US-41 about one mile south of Diffin Road when he lost control of his vehicle, it left the roadway and rolled over.
McClellan, the lone occupant, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.
He was taken to to UP Health System–Marquette where he later died from serious head injuries.
The investigation remains open pending the medical examiner’s final report.
State Police say although a rain/snow mix was falling at the time of the accident with some slush accumulating on the roadway, it is not known if the conditions played a role in the crash.
