The Japanese automaker has filed court papers in California saying it intends to make direct payments to customers and will also install a brake override system in more than three-million vehicles.
Former owners of Toyota vehicles who were forced to take reduced prices when selling their cars will also be able to secure a portion of the $250million dollars. There will be another $250 million available for Toyota owners whose vehicles aren’t eligible for the coming brake override system.
There’s no word when the payouts will begin.
