MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Marquette County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an early-morning single vehicle rollover accident yesterday on County Road 480.
The accident happened just before 1 a.m. just east of Seney Road when a westbound 2004 Honda CRV SUV, driven by 34-year-old Cora Longtine of Negaunee, went out of control and left the right side of the roadway.
The vehicle then rolled over with the roof submerged in a creek. Other motorists called 9-1-1 and attempted to free Longtine from the vehicle, but were unsuccessful.
Officers arriving on the scene entered the water and freed her. Longtine was taken to MGH where she was treated for some minor injuries. Deputies say she was wearing a seat-belt and the accident remains under investigation.
