Marquette, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A Baraga man has been sentenced in Federal Court in Marquette on assault charges.
35-year-old Jacob Charles Maki was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 27 months in prison for assault by strangulation.
In addition, Maki was sentenced to serve 3 years of supervised release following his prison term.
Court documents say Maki assaulted a a female victim by strangulation multiple times in February and March of this year.
Maki was indicted by a federal grand jury and plead guilty in June to one count of assault by strangulation.
