MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – The Superior Watershed Partnership is hosting a series of town hall meetings next week introducing a program that will conduct environmental reviews of the Rio Tinto Eagle Mine.
SWP Communications & Development Specialist Jon Becker joined the SUNNY Morning Show this week to preview the Community Environmental Monitoring Program.
Becker explained that the program will perform on-going, independent assessments of the mine and report the findings to the public.
According to the Partnership, the meetings will be held as follows: Monday at the Humboldt Township Hall, Tuesday at the Powell Township School, Wednesday at the Baraga Best Western Hotel and Thursday at Marquette’s Lakeview Arena. All meetings will begin at 7:00 p.m.
