Teen Injured In Escanaba Accident

    Escanaba, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Escanaba Public Safety says a 14-year-old boy was injured yesterday evening when he was hit by a passing car as he was hiding in a large leaf pile.

    The accident happened around 5:45 p.m. on the 400 block of 2nd Avenue South.

    Reports say a 16-year-old boy was westbound in a 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo when he drove through a large leaf pile in the street and struck the 14-year-old.

    The injured teen was taken to OSF St. Francis Hospital and was later airlifted to UP Health System-Marquette.

    No names have been released and the condition of the injured boy is unknown.

    The accident remains under investigation.
