    MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – A Christmastime tradition with a history going back to the end of World War II is back again for another year.

    Bob Bannan, local coordinator of the Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots program stopped by the Sunny Studios to talk about the annual effort to get toys into the hands of needy kids around the area.

    Bannan talked about all of the drop-off boxes around the area and what kinds of toys they are looking for.

    He also explained how the program got started back shortly after the end of World War II in 1945 that resulted in the first official toy drive in 1946.
