MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Governor Rick Snyder has appointed two new members to the Michigan Technological University Board of Control.
Robert Jacquart, of Ironwood, and Linda Kennedy, of Troy, will serve on the eight-person governing body of the Houghton university.
Jacquart is CEO of Jacquart Fabric Products, a textile designing and manufacturing company his father began in 1958 that now has annual sales of $15 million. He takes over for Kathryn Clark.
Kennedy is a shareholder in the Detroit office of Butzel Long PC, one of Michigan’s oldest law firms. She holds a bachelor’s degree in scientific and technical communication from Michigan Technological University, a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a law degree, both from the University of Minnesota. She replaces Martha Richardson.
They will serve eight-year terms that expire Dec. 30, 2020.
