    Snyder appoints two new board membersMARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News)Governor Rick Snyder has appointed two new members to the Michigan Technological University Board of Control.

    Robert Jacquart, of Ironwood, and Linda Kennedy, of Troy, will serve on the eight-person governing body of the Houghton university.

    Jacquart is CEO of Jacquart Fabric Products, a textile designing and manufacturing company his father began in 1958 that now has annual sales of $15 million. He takes over for Kathryn Clark.

    Kennedy is a shareholder in the Detroit office of Butzel Long PC, one of Michigan’s oldest law firms.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in scientific and technical communication from Michigan Technological University, a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a law degree, both from the University of Minnesota. She replaces Martha Richardson.

    They will serve eight-year terms that expire Dec. 30, 2020.
