MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – Authorities in Marquette County arrested a man for suspicion of driving while intoxicated yesterday afternoon after a two-car crash in Negaunee.
Police were contacted just after 3:00 o’clock yesterday afternoon about a westbound pickup truck headed to Negaunee on U.S. 41 that appeared to be being operated by a drunk driver.
The pickup truck eventually collided with a passenger car at U.S. 41 and Baldwin Avenue in Negaunee when the driver of the pickup attempted to turn left onto Baldwin and drove into the path of the eastbound car.
The driver of the pickup truck was taken into custody and no names have been released. The driver of the passenger car sustained minor injuries. The investigation is continuing.
