MARQUETTE, MI – (Great Lakes Radio News) – All five statewide proposed constitutional amendments were rejected by voters in Michigan, by wide margins.
That included Proposal 2, which guaranteed collective bargaining rights and invalidated certain laws dealing with collective bargaining.
Proposal 1, which was not bound to the state constitution and would have retained Michigan’s emergency manager law, was rejected after earlier opening up a big lead indicating it was going to pass. At last count, the proposal was defeated by a five point margin.
